At the Hines Foundation, we search for the innovative, the inspired, and those driven to find ways to fill the greatest needs of our global community. We call these catalysts of service “Social Entrepreneurs.” Loosely, a Social Entrepreneur is someone who has identified an innovative way in which they serve others and is dedicated to doing so – especially the less fortunate and the impoverished.
When we identify these dedicated individuals called to enduring movements, the Hines Foundation seeks to be a springboard that enables and encourages them by supplying:
-
- Personal, financial, social and spiritual support.
- Basic foundational business infrastructure.
- A culture that embodies constructive ideals and values.
- A systematic, strategic and persistent approach to social entrepreneurship.
- Connections among people, cultures and centers of influence.
We help produce: GROWTH!
The phrase “growth” generally means that we:
-
- Serve others where they need it most;
- Connect people with each other and with truth;
- Enlighten and educate individuals about both harsh realities and beauty around the world;
- Encourage and produce enduring improvements in the lives of those who need it most; particularly the poor, the oppressed and the downtrodden;
- By our example, incite others to do the same.
Success here can take many forms. It may mean that our projects eventually become their own 501(c)(3) or that they simply exist as an arm of the Hines Foundation. Regardless, we aim to change the face of the non-profit community by encouraging innovation, cooperation and service in a new generation of social entrepreneurs. With the help of our community, our supporters, and our social entrepreneurs, we believe we can do just that!
